QUALIFICATION OVERVIEW
The Focus Awards Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage Therapy (RQF) is intended for learners who are currently working in the sports and active leisure sector or looking to start a career in the massage industry. The purpose of this qualification is to provide you with knowledge and understanding of human anatomy and physiology, as well as sports massage techniques. Learners will also develop their skills to deliver professional sports massages to non-pathological tissues.

Assignment Coursework = 100%
Online Multiple Choice Theory Exams = >90%
Practical Observed Assessment = Pass or Refer
Unit 1: Assignment Based Coursework and a Timed Open Book Multiple Choice Theory Exam
Unit 2: Assignment Based Coursework and a Timed Open Book Multiple Choice Theory Exam – If Qualified as a Level 2 Gym Instructor or Level 3 Personal Trainer this unit can be given Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) Status
Unit 3: Assignment Based Coursework

Unit 5: Mandatory Workshop Completion and Practical Assessment
NB: Learners wishing to apply for membership with the Sports Massage Association will be required to provide evidence of at least 50 hours of treatment experience if they have completed a fast-track course which has been delivered in less than 3 months.
